Will light ash blonde hair dye on my dark golden hair lighten it to a paler, ashier blonde?

I have naturally dark golden blonde/ light golden brown hair, with natural light blonde highlights, and slightly red undertones.
If I put a light ash blonde hair dye on top, will it lighten the blonde, and maybe even out the red undertones?

It might, wouldn’t risk it if I were you, go to the hairdressers, its more expensive but you’ll get a better colour.

I wouldn’t bleach it if I were you either, that’s bad for your hair.

depending on the level of your natural hair. You would have better luck bleaching your hair out and then coloring it with the light ash blond color. This would give a true match.

red undertones or dark blonde hair will not change at all when u apply the ash dye, u will have to bleach it out first to make the tone of ur hair as light as the dye is.

It really does depend on what level your hair is now. You say dark golden blonde or light golden brown. So, I’m going to guess that would be about a level 7. You can usually lighten your hair two levels with a box of hair dye. So, you might be able to get yourself to a level 9 which is really quite light. I don’t think you should go ash though. It won’t change the red (red is hard, even for hairdressers to change) but it might make your blonde greenish or bluish. Stick to golden. It probably suits your skintone better anyway.
