Short hairstyle maintenance tips

Posted by on Monday, 15 February, 2010

Your short hair needs intensive care and maintenance if you want to flaunt different kind of style. It is said that short hair is easy to handle and manage but at least some caring is needed also. Here we are going to provide some advice on the maintenance of short hair. If you have not watched a short hair stylish woman for a long time then apply the following tips on your hair and get the instant results.

1.Trim your hair: You could trim your hair within six weeks. This is because if you want to maintain the short hairstyle regular trimming is must. If your short hair becomes long then your cut will be destroyed and cannot be recognized. Regular trimming is also good for the health of the hair. It helps to cut the split and damaged hair and helps to repair the hair. For long hair also hair trimming is important for natural growth of hair. Split hair ends hampers the natural growth of hair be it long hair or be it short hair.

2.Regular shampooing: Shampooing is very important for maintaining a short hair. Like long hair short hair does not keep the natural oil of the scalp that’s why dirt gets sticky to the scalp. Hair should be cleaned on daily basis. It helps to get rid of greases and clean the hair and scalp.

3.Using less conditioner: If you have dry hair then use a conditioner but only on the ends of the hair. Not at the root of the hair. But, if you have normal hair then avoid conditioner. Using conditioner on the scalp makes your scalp greasy. Your hair may be dry and unmanageable then using a conditioner is a smart choice.

4.Make your hair volumed: Your hair id thin and fine? Don’t mind. Solution is here. Use some good volumizer on to the root of the damp and dry hair before blow-drying. Volumed and bouncy hair criteria, which make your hair praiseworthy and attractive. For thin and fine short hair, using this product is an intelligent option.

5.Use your blow dryer: You may use your blow dryer but the thing that should be kept in mind is that using it too much can damage the hair texture. And for the short hair it would be more disastrous. Only use a dryer until it is a little bit of damp and wet. And then dry it normally. Blow-drying incessantly makes your hair dull and fuzzy.

6.Apply hair-texturing products: hairstyling tools and products like waxes; pastes and mousse can give your short hair a young, intelligent, modern look. But be careful. Do not use these kinds of products excessively. Just apply a little on your dry hair.

7.Keep your hair edges soft: short hair cut looks good with soft edges. Softly layered hair cut is good to view. Therefore, try to avoid blunt lines.

8.Experiment with colors: Though bold colors go best with short hairstyle but you can also use a lot of shades on your short hair cut. But it is always recommended to consult your hair expert before coloring your hair. Chunky blonde highlights or a rich chocolate shade looks great on short haircuts.

Are You Wearing Your Ideal Hairstyle?

Posted by on Wednesday, 6 January, 2010

“Hair style is the final tip-off whether or not a woman really knows herself.” -Hubert de Givenchy, Vogue, July 1985

I have the great privilege to watch women walk into the salon feeling out of sorts and walk out with a bounce. The simple act of the right haircut makes us feel good. But give a woman the wrong hair and she’s miserable. If the hairstyle does not accurately reflect who she is, it is often the result of the hairdresser not getting an accurate read. Some less experienced hairdressers see women in the second act as “older” and cookie-cut in kind.

This is why it is important to have your image profile adjectives at hand, ready to explain how you want your hair to look and feel. Let’s discuss what your image profile says about you and your hair.

What Your Image Profile Says

Classic Hair

As a Classic, a timeless and appropriate hairstyle feels best to you. You prefer your hair to feel finished and put together. Once you’ve found a style that works, it’s likely you will keep it for a long time. Though you may sometimes feel like you should be trying something new, you come back quickly to what works.

My client Mary, a Classic, has worn the exact same haircut since I attempted to help her grow it into something new years ago. In the course of “trying things a little differently” she’d somehow turn me back to exactly the original cut. Trying new things just didn’t work. This cut suits her, she likes it, and so it shall be. Though she sometimes is concerned about being too staid, there is no reason to change. Change is not always good, particularly for the classic. Choose your variety in attire as flash, not your hairstyle.

You’re most comfortable with balanced hair color close to what you are (or were) naturally. If you’re covering gray, soft medium to light browns, or blondes, these tend to work best as they appear most natural. For the Classic, it doesn’t have to be natural, just look natural. When you’ve found the perfect color there is no reason to change. It’s your color and should work well for you for years.

Use the words classic, sophisticated, timeless, and appropriate when talking to your hairdresser. There is nothing wrong and very much right with preferring a classic hairstyle. With a classic style you will always be appropriate and attractive.

Casual Hair

If you are a Casual, you prefer your hair to be practical, sporty, simple, and fresh. Relaxed, comfortable and hassle-free, you like your hair to match your informal lifestyle. You like to look good, but often don’t like to spend the time it may take to make that happen. This is can be a challenge as you age. Looking natural and being natural are two different things.

Simple, no nonsense hairstyles appeal to you as you “just don’t have the time to fuss” with complicated hairstyles. Usually short, or long and pulled back works best. You are more likely to procrastinate about coloring your hair. If you finally do, it is nothing too far from your natural color.

If easy care is paramount, tell your hairdresser that aside from special occasions you will spend very little time on your hair. Fortunately, with good hair and a great cut the simplest can also look the best. This is the art of hairdressing.

Romantic Hair

As a Romantic you prefer your hair to be soft and feminine. Nothing too stark, short or severe. Hair color leans toward soft chestnut browns, strawberry blondes or soft, natural wheat blondes. Whatever the color, you choose the softer tone. You enjoy the feel of hair and hair accessories. You may have been known for braids, velvety ponytails, and pretty hair accessories.

A romantic can certainly enjoy short hair, but it needs to feel full. If your hair is very fine, rollers, back combing, and whimsical curls will often appeal. As you age, there is nothing wrong with keeping your hair long and pulled back or put up. This can be a very attractive and feminine look.

Corrine is a 65-year-old Romantic who has consistently and appropriately cut her hair shorter over the years to reflect her best. Still, now at its shortest, it is full, wavy and soft with little product. It captures her feminine flair and looks lovely with her romantic attire.

Explain to your hairdresser that you want your hair to feel feminine, soft, and pretty. If you must keep length, make an appointment for lessons in how to wear it up or back. This allows you to always look age appropriate and attractive.

Dramatic Hair

Dramatics like to make a statement. Clean, simple, eye-catching looks that ooze chic. Whether it’s pulled back into a low chignon, a cropped boy-cut, or a blunt geometric bob—anything bold will light your fire. Dramatics feel best with a signature style rather than constantly evolving looks. Since you, more than others, will often spend the time necessary to make your hairstyle great, you may be able to do your hair even better than your hairdresser.

Consider adding softness to that drama as you age, however. Stacy came to me with a hard-edged black blunt bob. At age 56, her signature look had become a bit off-putting. But by softly angling the geometrics and lifting the color, it allowed her to keep the drama suitably becoming.

Remind your stylist that you want a cut that is “a look.” This way they know to think out of the box a bit and push the boundaries to match your theatrical panache. If you are willing to do what it takes—balancing the drama with makeup, clothing, and accessories—there’s no reason for you to disappear into quiet maturity. Not that you ever could.

Innovative Hair

When it comes to Innovative hair, anything offbeat as possible suits your whimsical attitude. Short and spiky, blunt, wild, or asymmetrical; you like change, though you may find the options lessen as you age. If you try to grow your hair out, you rarely get it much past your chin, as this is about the time you get bored and ready for a boost of excitement. Wigs and extensions appeal to you. Bette, who has worn every cut and color over the years, reached a crux. She thought her hairdresser had lost her creativity. The reality was that at age 42, though still very young, Bette’s hair and face could not carry off the dramatically out-there looks of her 20s.

Tell your hairdresser to be creative—that you want to look individual but appropriate. Though you may be willing to try anything, it’s important that you balance attention-grabbing hair with creative dress. One of my Innovatives dresses quite casually. Still she insists on hair that is crazy with chunks of fuchsia and hard-edged lines. It doesn’t work. For innovative hair to work on an aging face, it is necessary to balance it with makeup and clothes that are offbeat and upscale.

Alluring Hair

Your look is about being a woman. You prefer your hair long and tousled with bangs that you can toss away in a flirtatious moment. Big, full, fun, and sensual describe the hairstyle you like. If it’s short, it’s short and messy. But you add dazzle to it with dangling earrings.

Hair color tends toward making a statement. Rarely does an Alluring over age 50 settle for gray (And Allurings want to stay alluring forever). Recently a woman came into the salon with long blonde hair, tight jeans, a low cut blouse, gold brocade blazer and four inch gold stilettos. She was 82. Someone wasn’t giving up without a huge fight!

Though you may prefer long, reconsider shorter hair as you age. (Shorter meaning above clavicle length).  Show the sexy in your subtle clothing cues. Enjoy the art of makeup, and keep the hair at a manageable length or pulled back off the face. There is no reason to give up your alluring personality, but it does help to rein it in a bit to avoid looking camp.

What is the Best Color for Your Sedu Hairstyle?

Posted by on Wednesday, 6 January, 2010

Sedu hair style is usually considered to be straight hairstyle, but nothing apart this is mentioned, when speaking about Sedu hair. So, we may turn on our imagination and start seeking for the perfect color match to your own Sedu hair style.

Deciding on what hair color to choose is a ve-e-ry painstaking process. You think about highlighting, or changing brown into black, or blond into red. This day you would like to have hazel and the next day sun will make you love blond, and the autumn will force you to choose red.

There are hundreds of opportunities for the hair color. However, the main thing is to find something that will make your hairstyle a Sedu one. The crucial keypoints of the best choice is your character, your complexion, the color of your eyes, and your age.

Keypoint #1: Your character

To choose perfect hair color for your character means to use those color patterns that will naturally reflect your personality. Your image is a single whole, and suitable hair color will help you to ensure that your Sedu hairstyle reveals your character in the best way.

• Brown and hazel hair colors will suit everybody from business women to teenage girls.

• Black color will be good for self-confident people, while blond can bring out mild character.

• Red and copper shades discover passion and desire, and highlights express people who like to compose contrasts.

Even acid green for your hair color can suit you, until it matches your personality. So, mind your character, when deciding on your own Sedu hair color.

Keypoint #2: Your complexion

To express the Sedu part of your image and not spoil it with something unsuitable, you should remember about the complexion. Not that it should restrict you in colors, but shades should be picked up rather carefully.

Don’t listen to people who say that ethnic hair can be only of particular color to match the skin complexion. It’s not true. But still it is necessary to take care that the color you’ve chosen suits your image. Remember Halle Berry in the X-men? Does she look bad? Of course, not.

At the same time pale skin is rather sensitive to the black shades. When the wrong shade is picked up, you may even look like Mrs Adams. And cherry red don’t like tanned skin, while it matches pale people.

The bottom line is following: take care of the shade and it will take care of your Sedu image.

Keypoint #3: The color of the eyes

When speaking about perfect Sedu hairstyle, we should say that the color of your eyes is one of the most important questions. It is rather difficult to find the shade that will express the beauty of your eyes.

But there is some advice that can be considered useful in this situation:

• Dark grey and dark blue eyes can match everything.

• Light grey and blue eyes find themselves in friendship with blond and light brown; though sometimes these eye colors also fit brown black.

• Dark brown and hazel eyes match every hair color, but mind the complexion.

To say more, as long as you express your eyes’ beauty through the hair style and hair color, you express your own beauty, because your eyes reflect your personality. Moreover, your Sedu hair style only wins if everything about your style is in harmony.

Keypoint #4: Your age

Chanel once said that all women are beautiful and pretty. But prettiness disappears with age, though beauty remains. She also added that it’s a shame that all women want to be pretty, and no one desires to be beautiful.

I may add to this that Sedu style and hairstyle express your beauty, not prettiness, something that lies inside you, your secret passions and hidden desires. So, when you are not afraid of your age, either you’re in your -teens or your -ties, it is noticeable. You show bravery and dignity, and this is very attractive and Sedu.

Here are some tips to remember when matching age and hair color:

Black loves women in their twenties and thirties. That is if you have long and middle hairstyles. If you have short hairstyle, you may wear black as long as you like.

Brown and hazel colors love everybody. They are very democratic for every complexion, age, eye color and hairstyle. They look Sedu all the time.

Light blond matches pale complexion in any age. Dark blond matches everybody of any age. Your hairstyle remains Sedu as long as you like, while you’re blond.

Red is a very tricky color. Dark copper shades are perfect for pale complexions and all ages, while light red is a perfect choice for Asian complexion and pale complexion in teens and twenties, and at the same time cherry red highlights are very sexy and Sedu for everybody.

Highlights are one of the opportunities to change your hairstyle using contrasts. You may usually match any color with any color. If you’ve decided to change the hair color cardinally, make highlights. You’ll compose contrasts and show that you are very attractive with every color, even with two colors simultaneously.

All in all, your fantasy is the best adviser. There are hundreds of colors and thousands of shades. Remember about all above said and you’ll find how to turn your common hairstyle into unique Sedu hairstyle.
