I have like medium to dark blonde hair, but I have very strong red and a few brown natural highlights that make my hair seem darker than it actually is. For the next school year I want light blond hair and a medium brown bottom layer. My friend keeps telling me blonde and black dye grealy damage your hair, how true is this?
How harsh on your hair is it to dye your hair blonde?

going lighter is only really damaging for people with darker hair, like black.
going blonde for you will be very easy.
i have black hair with bleach blonde underneith my bangs.
my hair still didn’t get fried or anything, but i didn’t put heat to it for a while and conditioned it alot.
I’ve also gone from having all black hair to completely bleach blonde hair.
I’m in beauty school and I color girls hair all the time.
Trust me you’re hair will be fine if you go lighter.
